Deși pe cer e-aceeași lună --
Dar unde e cea de-altădată?
Minciuna vieții ce mă-mbată --
E azi o altfel de minciună.
Ca și atunci, duios răsună
Cavale-n noaptea înstelată,
Și-n cer zâmbește-aceeași lună --
Dar unde e cea de-altădată?
A ei lumină argintată
Cu roze albe mă-ncunună,
Și cântă tot pe vechea strună,
Dar pentru mine e schimbată,
Deși pe cer e-aceeași lună.
Translation:
Although in the sky is the same moon —
But where is the one from before?
The intoxicating lie of my life —
Is today a different kind.
As back then, she sweetly sings
Piping into the starry night
And in the sky the same moon smiles —
But where is the one from before?
Her silver light crowns me
With roses of white
And sings the same old tune,
Yet for me it is different.
Although in the sky is the same moon.
